Leading online food delivery platform Deliveroo has announced a new and exciting partnership with McDonald’s Australia that will see 422 McDonald’s restaurants across the country available to Australian customers on the Deliveroo app from February.

The partnership with Macca’s® underscores Deliveroo’s position as a leading player in Australian food delivery market and is a significant step in the company’s continued focus on being Australia’s pre-eminent delivery service.

Across the country, Deliveroo has experienced rapid growth, including a 30% increase in its restaurant offering in 2019 alone. Today, Deliveroo partners with 14,000 restaurants around the country and works closely with each to provide new opportunities for expansion.

The partnership with Deliveroo further enables McDonald’s efforts to provide their customers with a convenient way to enjoy their favourites from Macca’s iconic menu. Customers will be able to order from the full Macca’s menus, excluding specific limited time offers, on the Deliveroo platform.

Ed McManus, CEO for Deliveroo Australia said: “We’re excited to be bringing one of the world’s most iconic restaurant brands to our platform. Close to two million people nationally visit a McDonald’s restaurant everyday so we anticipate that they will be a popular choice on Deliveroo.”

“Deliveroo aims to offer the widest selection of restaurants of any platform so we can cater for every customer and every occasion. We have ambitious plans to grow our business in 2020 - this partnership with McDonald’s will help us achieve that.”

At a time when consumer habits are evolving and people are looking for greater convenience, we’re excited to be bringing this iconic brand to even more customers across Australia.”

Jennifer Evans, Head of Home Delivery at McDonald’s Australia said: “Delivery is an important part of our business as we look to continue to responding to the evolving needs of our customers.  We know our customers love convenience and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Deliveroo to provide another way for customers to easily order and enjoy their favourite Macca’s menu items, on their terms.”

The partnership comes at a time when online food delivery continues to skyrocket in popularity for Australians. The Deliveroo platform now reaches more than 11 million Australians across 13 cities and with partnerships like McDonald’s, with these numbers expected to expand quickly.
